The House of Representatives under Speaker Hanafy el Gebaly on Monday held a general session at the parliament’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital (NAC) to let Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli deliver his new government’s policy statement.
The government’s policy statement must gain a vote of confidence in the House, as per Article 146 of the Constitution and Article 126 of Parliament’s internal bylaws.
On Wednesday, Egypt’s new 30-member cabinet, led by Madbouli, was sworn in before President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
After presenting the new government’s program by the premier, the House speaker will announce the formation of a special committee to consider the program and prepare a report within 10 days before being debated by MPs.
