The House of Representatives under Counselor Hanafi Gebali gave its final approval Wednesday to the government-drafted law to amend some provisions in Agriculture Law No. 53 of 1966.
Earlier on April , the House of Representatives referred a draft law to a joint committee from the legislative and constitutional affairs committee to amend some provisions in Agriculture Law No. 53 of 1966.
The draft law primarily aims to protect and increase agriculture lands and secure food, which is considered a primary goal for the State in light of the steady population increase.
The draft law also aims to confront the loss of farmland by demolishing illegal homes and buildings constructed without permits.
