The social media outlets have buzzed with the presence of spoiled watermelon in the market and news of some cases of poisoning, a matter that urged the Ministry of Agriculture to analyse 57 random samples of watermelon fruits from 17 main and sub-markets scattered in 11 governorates.
The analysis results did not detect any pesticide residues or microbial contaminants in the fruits, and that all watermelon samples were safe and suitable for human consumption.
