Over 103 million services offered under New Beginning for Human Development Initiative 1 - Egyptian Gazette

CAIRO – Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development and Minister of Health and Population, said on Sunday the total services delivered by the “Bedaya – A New Beginning for Human Development” initiative has exceeded 103 million services since its launch.

Over the past four days alone, the initiative has provided 9,307,921 services. These include empowering and training 702,017 women through 223 services and activities, the distribution of 16.7 tons of meat to 16,740 families, 66 comprehensive community convoys benefiting 31,883 citizens, and 277 educational, scientific, and awareness seminars attended by 5,315 participants.

During this period, the initiative delivered 517,737 services in youth and sports activities. The initiative provided various social assistance including education, grants, marriage, and compensation to 25,595 citizens, issued 1,048 disability ID and integrated services cards, and delivered rehabilitation services through specialised care centres to 10,383 citizens with disabilities. It also distributed “Takaful and Karama” cash support cards to 131,393 beneficiaries, while 21,114 women benefited from the “Rural Women Training Project”.

Bedaya initiative also conducted door-to-door campaigns to raise awareness about the dangers of addiction, reaching 10,575 young men and women. Health services were provided to 5,733,072 citizens through 59 medical convoys, including therapeutic, preventive, and family planning services, as well as home visits, prenatal check-ups, and child growth monitoring.

Furthermore, the initiative organised 654 diverse cultural events, including seminars, lectures, workshops, and theatrical performances, benefiting approximately 102,486 citizens. It financed 6001 medium, small, and micro-projects for youth and underprivileged families and conducted financial inclusion seminars for 9,850 beneficiaries.
