Oracle has announced a major initiative to train 150,000 young Egyptians in the latest cloud computing technologies, as part of efforts to strengthen Egypt’s digital transformation agenda.
Communications and Information Technology Minister Raafat Hindi met with Oracle executives, including Walid Ahmed, Vice President for Cloud Applications in ECEMEA and Regional Director in Egypt, and Tamer Gamal, Technology Sector Director, to discuss expanding cooperation in digital transformation and capacity building. The meeting reviewed ongoing projects led by the ministry across government sectors, alongside youth-focused programs designed to equip graduates with skills for the labor market.
Oracle’s training program will provide scholarships in advanced cloud technologies, aiming to build a strong pool of digital talent to serve both local and global markets. Minister Hindi welcomed the initiative, stressing the ministry’s commitment to fostering an attractive investment climate in ICT, expanding data centers, and positioning Egypt as a regional hub for data industries. He highlighted the importance of advanced technologies, particularly cloud computing, in accelerating digital transformation and improving public services.
Hindi praised Oracle’s role in offering specialized training aligned with the ministry’s strategy to prepare youth for future jobs. He confirmed the ministry’s readiness to support the company in maximizing the impact of the program. Walid Ahmed reaffirmed Oracle’s dedication to Egypt’s digital economy, noting that the training initiative will accelerate adoption of cutting-edge technologies by Egyptian institutions.
Both sides agreed to hold a workshop to explore further cooperation in digital transformation, capacity building, and cloud computing.
