Cairo regaining leadership role in Arab, regional, international arenas, says ambassador

Oman Ambassador in Cairo Abdullah bin Nasser Al-Rahbi and an accompanying delegation paid a visit to Tahrir Printing and Publishing House and lauded Egypt’s comprehensive development process as well as its ongoing giant projects, describing them as “impressive”.
The ambassador was received by Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tahrir Printing and Publishing House Eyad Abu Al-Haggag, and Editor-in-Chief of Al-Gomhouria newspaper Abdel Razek Tawfiq, Editor-in-Chief of The Egyptian Gazette newspaper Mohamed Fahmy as well as a host of other newspaper editors.
During the meeting, Ambassador Al-Rahbi praised Al-Gomhouria newspaper’s enlightening role, saying that compared to the Eighties when he was a student at the University of Alexandria, there is a comprehensive breakthrough in all fields in Egypt during the era of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
The ambassador added that the political movement in Egypt is great and the country is regaining its important role in Arab, regional and international arenas.
“The Sultanate has a clear, frank and positive stance towards Egypt and has always supported Egypt with its capabilities at all times,” the ambassador said, describing relations between the two countries as “very warm”.
Ambassador Al-Rahbi also congratulated Egypt on a number of sports medals at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, saying that the Sultanate is interested in the sports aspect and there is a growing interest in youth and sports.
The ambassador also said that the experience of the Sultanate of Oman in combating terrorism continues, adding that Egypt is also dazzling the world in the fight against terrorism, with the thought and sound vision of its leadership.
He also referred to some impressive projects such as the project for a decent life which provides 5.5 million housing units and aims to eliminate slums.
Abul-Haggag said that Tahrir Printing and Publishing House is proud to have a reputable institution that plays an enlightening media role in Egypt and the Arab world, noting that the Sultanate of Oman has historical relations with Egypt, and that the United Nations Development Programme ranked Oman as one of the best countries in the world in the field of development.
Meanwhile, the Global Peace Index ranked the Sultanate in the 59th position among the most peaceful countries.
For his part, Editor-in-Chief of Al-Gomhouria newspaper Tawfiq said the historical relations linking the two countries are long-standing and that there are common denominators between the two peoples that distinguish them with the ability to tolerate and mediate.
The Gazette Editor-in-Chief Fahmy highlighted the importance of joint co-operation in the field of media, especially the media in foreign languages, because its role is important in communicating the messages of Arab countries about developments in the region and the possibility of direct communication with all countries of the world.
At the end of the visit, Al-Gomhouria presented a commemorative shield and a journal titled ‘Sisi’s Egypt and Building the Modern State’ to the ambassador.
The ambassador praised this distinguished media initiative that records real achievements and successes achieved on the ground with pictures during the era of President Sisi.
