TOKYO – The Egyptian men’s Olympic handball team claimed their third win in group-stage matches after defeating Sweden 27-22 on Friday to secure a place in the quarter-finals.
The Pharaohs are now second in Group B with six points, even on points with Denmark who is at the top of the group. The top four advance to the quarter-finals, MENA reported.
In the last game of the group phase, Egypt will take on Bahrain, with an eye on one of the first two places, while Sweden to face reigning Olympic champions Denmark in a rematch of the final of the IHF Men’s World Championship 2021.
