Egyptian Chairman of the National Press Authority (NPA) Abdel Sadeq el-Shorbagi sent a cable of congratulations to President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on the occasion of Eid el-Fitr (Lesser Bairam), marking the end of the holy fasting month of Ramadan.

“On behalf of members of the NPA, board chairmen and chief editors of national press institutions and all workers and journalists, I offer the best greetings to President Sisi on this blessed occasion, wishing more progress, advancement and prosperity under his leadership,” el-Shorbagi said in his cable.

He went on to say that we pledge to redouble efforts to help the state-run press institutions restore their leading position in enlightening various categories of society with the aim of confronting misconceptions and the forces of darkness.

He also pledged to sustain development of press establishments to be up to the responsibility of spreading national awareness among the public.
