OSLO- Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre hosted an unofficial tea reception on Sunday in honor of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, currently on a visit to Norway as part of his European tour.
Presidential Spokesman Mohamed el Shenawy said the reception reflects Norwegian premier’s appreciation for Egypt and President Sisi, noting that it is an unusual gesture for the Norwegian prime minister to host any event for a foreign official during the weekend in addition to hosting the reception at his residence.
The Norwegian premier began the meeting by welcoming President Sisi, expressing his appreciation for this historic visit. President Sisi is the first Egyptian president to visit Norway.
The spokesman said President Sisi praised the generous gesture by the Norwegian premier considering it a reflection of the promising future of the relationship between the two friendly countries.
