CAIRO – Egypt’s Minister of Education and Technical Education Reda Hegazy affirmed that no leaks of Thanaweya Amma exams have been reported since 2016, describing confusion caused recently as failed online cheating attempts by some students.

In a video for the Cabinet’s Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC), the minister said the ministry has managed to reveal the identity – within less than five minutes – of students behind such attempts through verifying the barcode printed on the exam question paper.

The cheating law, which stipulates depriving violating students one or two years from taking exams, has been enforced, the minister added.
