FLORIDA – Head of the National Media Authority Hussein Zein congratulated President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on the successful launch of the new Egyptian satellite Nilesat 301.
The launch of Nilesat 301 is a big achievement for the authority, Zein added in remarks following the launch of the satellite from Florida, US, on Wednesday.
The measure is part of the genuine development, technological revolution and digital transformation on all fronts in the new republic, he said.
The launch of the satellite is a new phase to tap new vistas in using satellite technologies in the various domains, he further mentioned.
He pointed out that Nilesat 301 satellite is a scientific achievement for audio-visual IT communications.
Zein added the new satellite has an advanced technology offering several services, topped by broadband internet connections covering all governorates in the country, remote areas, main structure projects and new urban communities.
He said Nilesat 301 satellite will as well cover countries in southern Africa with high quality internet connections.
Zein voiced his delight with taking part in this historic event.
Egypt successfully launched new satellite, Nilesat 301, by the Space X Falcon 9 rocket on Wednesday at 11:03 pm Cairo Local Time.
The new satellite is part of the development boom witnessed in Egypt during the era of President Sisi.
Nilesate 301, with a projected lifespan of at least 15 years, will replace Nilesat 201, which will expire in 2028.
The new satellite will provide an expanded broadband internet services to cover Egypt, including remote areas, new projects, infrastructure projects and new urban communities, as well as gas and oil fields in the eastern Mediterranean.
It will also cover southern African and Nile River Basin countries, aiming to achieve greater communication with the peoples of the African continent in line with the directions of President Sisi in deepening Egyptian-African relations.
