Chairman of the National Food Safety Authority (NFSA) Dr Tarek el-Hobi received on Wednesday Anwar Ayed Bin Hasousa, Commercial Attaché of Saudi Arabia Embassy.
The meeting discussed ways to strength trade co-operation between Egypt and the Kingdom, especially with regard to facilitating the access of food exports between the two countries.
El-Hobi stressed NFSA’s desire to coordinate and collaborate continuously with Saudi Arabia to facilitate procedures and overcome all obstacles to the continuation of trade exchange and increase export opportunities for food and agricultural products between the two countries.
Al-Hobi noted that the fraternal relation between the political leadership of the two countries, as well as the close ties between the Egyptian and Saudi peoples, represent a basis for strengthening joint trade relations.
Also, he stressed on the role of the Authority as a service regulatory body in improving the quality and competitiveness of Egyptian food industries in Arab and international markets.
He added that the Saudi market is one of the most important receiving markets for Egyptian food exports.
For his part, Anwar Ayed Bin Hasousa praised the role of the National Food Safety Authority as a regulatory body in increasing the competitiveness of Egyptian food and agricultural products in Saudi markets.
He expressed his country’s desire to strengthen the bonds of co-operation between the two countries in various fields, especially increasing the rates of intraregional trade in food products.
Also, he noted the importance of strengthening joint efforts to overcome obstacles to the access of food exports between both countries during the next stage.
