The Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) is to open ship bunkering services within the coming days, which will bring added value to shipping at our ports.
This statement by SCZone chairman Gamal Eddin came during a discussion panel at the 23rd meeting of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.
The theme of this year’s meeting is ‘Investing in Flexibility’.
The panel dealt with automobile, food, petrochemicals, pharmaceutical industries and green fuel projects to be located in SCZone industrial zones and ports.
“We plan to localise green fuel industries and feeder industries for the manufacture of solar panels, wind turbines and desalination plants,” Gamal Eddin said.
“We have worked on raising the competitiveness of SCZone ports and their prime location on the Red Sea, the Mediterranean Sea and the Suez Canal gives them a head start in this respect,” he added.
