Ambassador of Japan Oka Hiroshi and Chairman of Takatof Association for Development Hossam Badrawi signed a grant contract for Japanese Grant Assistance for Grass-Roots Human Security Projects.
Egypt’s Minister of Social Solidarity Nevine el-Qabbag, was present at the signing.
The $74,274 grant is for building three new kindergarten classrooms in Ezbet el-Haggana in eastern Cairo.
The minister hailed co-operation between the Japanese Embassy and Takatof as it is in line with government policy.
El-Qabbag added that her ministry is committed to early childhood development as one of the important factors in education.
Ambassador Oka said the embassy will contribute social security in partnership with local civil society in education sector, health, water and sanitation, and women’s empowerment.
National Authority for Education Quality Assurance and Accreditation awarded quality certificates to schools projects in Beni Sueif in 2015 and Giza in 2017 as a result of collaboration between the embassy and Takatof.
