Minister of Immigration Nabila Makram and Minister of Planning and Economic Development, Hala el-Saeed, on Friday met to coordinate on preparations for the sixth edition of the ‘Egypt Can’ conference.
The sixth edition of the conference will be held later this year under the slogan ‘Egypt Can with Industry’.
The new conference, Minister Makram said, would be an important link between Egyptian industry experts abroad, on one hand, and the agencies and ministries concerned at home, on the other.
She added that the conference would discuss a wide range of issues within the priorities of the Egyptian state’s strategy for the development of the industrial sector.
“We will be seeking to benefit from the expertise of our experts abroad, especially in the development of pharmaceutical industries and the uses of clean energy,” she added.
Minister Makram noted that discussions on clean energy during the event would be especially important in the light of Egypt’s preparations for hosting the COP27 climate change conference in the Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh later this year.
The minister of immigration explained that the new edition of the conference would bring together Egyptian scientists and experts from different countries, along with a large number of industrialists and specialists from Egypt.
All these people, the minister said, would come together to discuss ways of supporting Egypt’s strategy for industrial localisation and maximising benefits from the experiences of our scientists around the world.
She noted that the opening session of the conference would review Egypt’s strategy in industrial financing, and post-pandemic changes.
