The General Assembly of the Egyptian Supreme Constitutional Court has hailed the political leadership’s choice of Counselor Boulos Fahmy Eskander as court president.
The SCC yesterday met for the first time under Eskander expressed best wishes for the new president and for his predecessor Sayed Marei, who had to retire for health reasons.
Eskander, who was sworn in on February 9 before President Abdel Fattah El Sisi last week, graduated in the Faculty of Law, Cairo University in 1977.
In 1994, he obtained a degree from the US Atlanta Research Institute in judicial management.
Eskander served as SCC vice president in 2010 and later president of the Cairo Appeal Court, until he was reappointed as SCC vice president in 2014.
