CAIRO – Assistant finance minister for tax affairs Reda Abdel Qader has stressed that the Finance Ministry and the Tax Authority exert their efforts to ease procedures for taxpayers to join the electronic receipt system.
He reiterated in a statement on Thursday that the total number of receipts sent to the electronic system has reached some 83 million receipts so far.
The electronic receipt system is part of the electronic invoice system to cover all forms of electronic transactions made by all parties.
The electronic receipt system aims to merge the informal economy into the formal economy and create an accurate database to be depended upon in the application of data analysis systems and decision taking processes to treat taxpayers on equal footing, he added.
