Egyptian President of the National Council For Women (NCW) Maya Morsi reiterated commitment of the Egyptian government to proceeding with its strenuous efforts aimed at facing climate change and empowering women in various fields.

Morsi’s remarks came while chairing the council’s regular meeting with all its members attending on Wednesday.

The meeting aimed to probe painstaking efforts exerted by the council last year and its action plans in the coming period.

Morsi talked about arrangements for attending the 27th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Climate Change Convention (COP 27 UNFCCC).

A day for women will be held in COP27, slated for November in Sharm El-Sheikh, she added.

Morsi pointed out to Egypt’s vision on the issue of women and climate, stressing there is gender inequality and challenges facing the achievement of women empowerment.
