Member of the National Council for Human Rights (NCHR) Noha Talaat said Sunday that Egypt is keen on outlining a new vision to build societies through its World Youth Forum (WYF).
The three previous editions of the WYF had come out with recommendations that, thanks to the will of youth, are now reality and bearing fruit, Talaat said in statements to MENA.
The fourth edition of the forum sends a clear message that life is back to normal, she said, adding that it also reflects the ability of Cairo to host many world events despite the exceptional circumstances caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
The organization of the forum also tells a lot about a stable health, political and security situation in Egypt, Talaat noted.
This edition will focus on the file of climate, especially with Egypt planned to host the COP27 later this year, the NCHR member told MENA.
Topping the agenda of the forum will also be water security, as well as human rights, which, Talaat said will be tackled in light of an unprecedented development process taking place in Egypt.
Basic human rights will be highlighted during the fourth WYF, she said, noting that in the past that was only an issue of political and civilian rights.
She touched upon the “Decent Life” presidential initiative, which should figure high in the event.
It is such a unique experiment that addresses more than 58 million citizens in most vulnerable areas, Talaat explained, stressing that the Egyptian government is acting to provide basic rights for residents of those places to be on an equal footing with their peers in urban areas.
The idea of the forum is to allow world youth to exchange views regarding all files on the agenda of the event, she noted
