NCHR conf. recommends merging goals of sustainable development in strategies of national institutions

The International conference of the National Council for Human Rights (NCHR) recommended merging the goals of sustainable development in the strategies of the national institutions for human rights and their annual reports in addition to the work of the national institutions to link the complaints data with the indexes of the sustainable development goals.

In its concluding statement, the conference recommended implementing the recommendations of the conference of the Arab Network for NGOs that was held in Sharm el Sheikh June 26-27, 2019 on the role of the national institutions in implementing and following up the realization of the goals of sustainable development.

The conference, that was held by the NCHR for two days, asserted the importance of encouraging the national institutions for human rights to play an effective role at the national level to achieve sustainable goals.

The conference also recommended boosting the efforts of the national institutions for human rights in the field of raising the awareness on the goals of sustainable development.

The event was organized to encourage the Arab countries to achieve more progress towards implementing 2030 plan for sustainable development via providing resources and putting and implementing plans in partnership with the different developmental sectors.
