The Egyptian Petroleum Ministry said on Sunday that natural gas was supplied to 926 villages under Decent Life Initiative.
In press statements, the minister said the latest figure brings to 14 million the number of natural gas-operated residential units across Egypt.
In the past nine years, the ministry supplied natural gas to more than eight million units, surpassing the number of units that operated on natural gas in 34 years. he said.
He referred to the ministry’s initiative, that was launched in 2018 to help residents get natural gas by paying soft installments for seven years free of any interest charges.
