Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar convened an extensive meeting on Monday to review work progress on national construction and digital transformation projects of the health sector.
The minister stressed the need to accelerate implementation, strictly adhering to schedule.The meeting examined the status of 17 projects nationwide, including three digital transformation initiatives, nine new construction and comprehensive development projects, four efficiency enhancement projects, and a project to establish primary healthcare units across several governorates, including Cairo, Alexandria, Minya, Beni Suef, Marsa Matrouh, Beheira, and Gharbia.
On digital transformation, the minister confirmed the issuance of assignment orders covering 26 hospitals, 715 health units, and 313 units under the Decent Life initiative.
He also reviewed the digital rollout plan for 21 hospitals in Minya, monitored construction of the new 500-bed Samalut Medical Complex, and followed up on the demolition and reconstruction of Samasta Hospital in Beni Suef.
Referring to projects in Matrouh, discussions addressed the comprehensive development of El Hammam Hospital, efficiency upgrades at Dabaa Central Hospital, construction of the new Matrouh General Hospital, and expansion works at Ras El Hekma Hospital.
The meeting further reviewed plans to establish blood banks and mental health hospitals in Damanhour and El Mahalla El Kubra, set up a blood bank in Sharm el-Sheikh, develop the Technical Institute of Health buildings in Alexandria and Imbaba, and construct 44 primary healthcare units in North Sinai, all aimed at enhancing service quality and expanding access to care.
