CAIRO- General Coordinator of the National Dialogue Diaa Rashwan had a meeting on Sunday with the leaders of human rights organizations expected to participate in the dialogue’s sessions of the committees concerned with human rights and general freedoms.
During the meeting, participants briefed attendees on their vision for the issues listed on the agenda of the dialogue’s relevant specialized committees.
They also called for facilitating the procedures of registering human rights organizations wishing to regularize their status, reaffirming their willingness to effectively participate in the dialogue’s various sessions.
Participants also included representatives of the Egyptian Initiatives for Personal Rights, the Association for Freedom of Thought and Expression, the Egyptian Center for Economic and Social Rights, the Egyptian Center of Education Right, the Egyptian Center for Housing Rights, and Maat Foundation for Peace, Development and Human Rights, among other relevant entities.
Meanwhile, Rashwan said the dialogue’s board is committed to creating an environment conducive to a constructive national dialogue that leads to consensual recommendations that will be submitted to the president of the Republic before putting them into action.
Over the few days ahead, Rashwan is expected to hold similar meetings with other representatives of human rights bodies who had been invited to this meeting.
