CAIRO- The National Dialogue’s Board of Trustees held on Wednesday its 23rd session to probe the necessary arrangements for launching the dialogue sessions in the proposed date of May 3.
The board of trustees said in a statement Wednesday that it discussed during the 8-hour session a number of issues and files, foremost of which is developing a vision for the dialogue’s opening session.
The board also discussed issues of priority on the agendas of its coming sessions.
The board of trustees commended the presidential pardon for almost 1,400 inmates, expressing thanks to President Abdel Fattah El Sisi in this regard.
The board added that it is looking forward to similar decisions, which it said help create a positive climate, support the National Dialogue and increase confidence among its parties.
Meanwhile, the National Dialogue urged warring parties in Sudan to immediately stop violence, negotiate in order to end the bloodshed in the country, as well as to call for political dialogue and peaceful solutions.
It also praised the efforts exerted by the Egyptian State to deal with the Sudanese crisis, evacuate Egyptian nationals, receive the Sudanese people wishing to come to Egypt, and facilitate the evacuation of foreigners living in Sudan through Egypt.
