CAIRO – General Coordinator of the National Dialogue Diaa Rashwan said consultative meetings have been held with figures and leaders in various fields in the society; in light of the National Dialogue’s keenness to engage all segments of the Egyptian society in the dialogue.
After long, constructive discussions in the meetings, the National Dialogue’s Board of Trustees received several lists for proposed participants in the dialogue’s committees. The lists involved political, intellectual and legal figures and leaders in addition to prominent artists, Rashwan added in press statements.
The lists included actor Ahmed Abdel Aziz, writer and thinker Nabil Abdel Fattah, author and screenwriter Abdel Rehim Kamal, poet Ibrahim Abdel Fattah, writer and poet Ibrahim Dawood, economic researcher Salah Zaki Mourad, political activist Yasser el-Hawary, Nasserite human rights defender Maha Abu Bakr, and civil society activist Zeinab Abdel Rahman Kheir.
Civil society expert Ahmed Abdel Qader Tammam, journalist Mahmoud el-Sakka, human rights defender Mohamed Abdel Aziz, civil society experts Reda Shoukry, Mahmoud Mortada and Mona Ezzat, in addition to journalist Mostafa el-Kilany were also included in the proposed lists, according to Rashwan.
The general coordinator stressed that the National Dialogue’s Board of Trustees welcomes all names mentioned in the suggested lists, noting that it would add more enrichment to the dialogue.
He added that doors of the National Dialogue are open to all Egyptians.
