CAIRO– General Coordinator of the National Dialogue Diaa Rashwan reiterated on Saturday the board of trustees’ appreciation of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s decrees concerning using his constitutional authority to pardon some inmates.
The president will continue to issue more pardon decrees during the upcoming period, Rashwan announced.
He noted that the board is keen on cooperating with the presidential pardon committee and to exert more efforts to coordinate with the public prosecution and the judicial authorities concerned to swiftly release a number of remanded inmates.
He also reiterated the board’s call to all sides and partners to support the National Dialogue in order to fulfill the Egyptians’ aspirations.
The first sessions of the National Dialogue’s committees are set to kick off on Sunday to discuss some political issues.
The sessions are set to discuss issues related to the elections of the House of Representatives and ways to eradicate discrimination, among others.
The sessions are set to be held on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays with up to four sessions a day.
