The National Alliance for Civil Development Action (NACDA) announced on Tuesday the dispatch of the fourth humanitarian aid convoy to the Gaza Strip.
This convoy, a statement by the alliance said, comes in implementation of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s directives to provide immediate support and humanitarian relief to the Palestinian people to alleviate their suffering due to the war in Gaza, which have resulted in the killing and injuring of thousands.
The convoy consists of over 5,228 tonnes of food, 372 tonnes of medical equipment, and 530 tonnes of blankets, tents, and clothing, 755 tonnes of water and 87 tonnes of detergents among other relief materials.
The Food Bank, Orman Association, Resala Association, and other member organisations, included in the foremost Life Makers Foundation – Good Makers Foundation – Abu Al-Enein Foundation – Jamal Garhi Foundation for Community Development – Al-Arabi Foundation for Community Development – Misr Al-Khair Foundation – Al-Joud Foundation – Egyptian Al-Shifa Bank – Mersal Foundation – Coptic Evangelical Organisation for Social Services – Egyptian Youth Council – Relief and Emergency Foundation,took part in readying the convoy.
The NACDA condemned the acts of violence and war crimes committed in the Gaza Strip, which represent a direct threat to international peace, and are inconsistent with the United Nations Charter to preserve human rights.
The NACDA also pledged to continue delivering humanitarian aid until peace is restored in Gaza and stressed its strong condemnation of violence and its commitment to upholding fundamental human rights.
Meanwhile, as many as 80 trucks of various humanitarian relief aid entered the Gaza Strip via Rafah land crossing.
An official source at Rafah crossing said the trucks were loaded with foodstuffs, medical supplies, medicine, blankets and tents.
Another 130 trucks are being prepared to be sent to the Gaza Strip, he said.
The volume of humanitarian aid that entered the Gaza Strip since the start of the Israeli aggression until February 2 reached 560 aircraft that arrived at Arish International Airport, and 51 aid ships.
The source indicated that the aid was provided by 40 Arab and foreign countries and 28 regional and international organisations.
He added that 8,820 trucks carrying 133,479 tonnes of relief aid were delivered to the Gaza Strip, including 5,918 trucks carrying 87,670 tonnes of food supplies, 1,192 trucks carrying 19,521 tonnes of medical supplies, and 1,710 trucks carrying 26,287 tonnes of relief material.
The number of Egyptian trucks that entered the Gaza Strip reached 2,944, carrying 49,751 tonnes compared to 1,302 trucks carrying 18,61 tonnes from the rest of the world, and 4,574 trucks carrying 65,406 tonnes from international organisations.
Meanwhile, three humanitarian aid planes arrived at Arish International Airport from Oman, Qatar and Belgium carrying relief materials for the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
An official source at Arish Airport said that the first plane arrived from the UAE carrying 21 tonnes of food supplies, the second from Qatar carrying 38 tonnes of medicines, and the third plane from Belgium, carrying 53 tonnes of medical supplies.
The source indicated that the cargo of the planes was unloaded and transferred to logistical warehouses in Arish in preparation for transportation to the Rafah crossing to be delivered to Gaza in coordination between the Palestinian and Egyptian Red Crescent and the United Nations Relief and Works Agency.
The source also noted that a variety of aid ships from Indonesia carrying 242 tonnes of relief aid arrived at Arish seaport.
