CAIRO/MECCA – The Health Ministry said Monday that a medical mission accompanying Egyptian pilgrims examined 10,287 pilgrims until Sunday night.
The medical mission is working at 24 clinics, said Health Ministry spokesman Hossam Abdel Ghaffar. He made it clear that 8,490 pilgrims visited the clinics in Mecca, while 1,797 went to the clinics in Madina Munawarah.
Abdel Ghaffar added that 655 cases were transferred to Saudi hospitals in Mecca and Madina Munawarah. Of all 655 cases, 21 are still receiving treatment in hospitals, he noted.
Head of the medical mission Dr Amr Rashid said no infectious diseases have been detected among the Egyptian pilgrims so far.
The mission is coordinating action with all hospitals and health authorities in Saudi Arabia, he assured.
