Montenegrin President Jakov Milatovic and his wife visited the Grand Egyptian Museum in Cairo during his first official visit to Egypt.
They were received by Ahmed Ghneim, chief executive of the museum authority, who briefed them on the museum and its main collections before taking them on a tour of the outdoor plaza, Grand Hall, Grand Staircase, principal galleries and the Tutankhamun galleries.
Milatovic and his delegation expressed admiration for the museum’s architecture, exhibition design and unique artefacts highlighting the grandeur of ancient Egyptian civilisation.
Milatovic and Ghneim exchanged commemorative gifts at the end of the visit, which the ministry said reflected the close bilateral ties between Egypt and Montenegro and the visitors’ interest in Egypt’s cultural heritage.
