Egypt’s Minister of Environment Yasmine Fouad received the SAG Award by Esri, a global leader in geographic information systems (GIS), in recognition of the Ministry of Environment’s excellence in applying GIS for the protection and management of biodiversity.
The award, which was presented at a ceremony held in a hotel in Cairo, celebrates successful projects implemented by Esri partners worldwide using GIS to analyze complex data and find innovative solutions to challenges.
The ceremony was attended by Egyptian Environmental Affairs Agency (EEAA) CEO Ali Abu Senah, CEO of Esri North Africa Hashem Hemida and other senior officials.
The minister highlighted the Environment Ministry’s commitment to digital transformation and applying modern technologies in the environmental fields.
