Egyptian Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, el-Sayed el-Qoseir, opened on Sunday the Soil Analysis Laboratory, an affiliate of the General Authority for Reconstruction and Agricultural Development Projects, after its upgrade.
The laboratory conducts chemical and physical analyzes of farmland used by the General Authority for Reconstruction and Agricultural Development Projects in the implementation of its projects, Authority Director, Mohamed el-Shahat, said.
He added that the laboratory also conducts analyses for the benefit of the private sector.
‘It also provides land reclamation advice and solutions through a set of technical recommendations according to the quality of the soil and the water used in irrigation,’ he added.
Around 90 chemists and agricultural engineers work in the upgraded lab.
El-Shahat said the facility offers its services for affordable prices and gives appropriate technical recommendations to customers while providing a complete picture of the quality of soil and irrigation water.
‘We are keen to provide the best services with the most accurate results,’ el-Shahat said.
He said his lab co-operates and coordinates with all the other laboratories and research institutes of the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation.
El-Shahat noted that his authority’s lab had conducted soil and water analyses for almost all reclamation projects in Egypt.
