CAIRO – The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities denied reports circulated on some social media pages about partial closure of the Giza Pyramids Plateau for two months to carry out development works.
Supreme Council of Antiquities (SCA) Secretary General Mostafa Waziri dismissed such news as baseless, asserting the archaeological area is open for visits by Egyptians and tourists.
He noted the development works at Giza Pyramids Plateau are being carried out in accordance with the set timetable.
The ministry urged mass media outlets and social media users to seek accuracy and objectivity before spreading any wrong information that could cause public discontent.
