Minister of Awqaf (religious endowments) Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa and Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Ayman Ashour discussed Sunday co-operation between the two ministries and development of the International Awqaf Academy (IAA).
The meeting came in response to directives from President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on the importance of qualifying imams to lead public opinion into moderate religious discourse.
Gomaa said the academy has opened its doors to train imams from Sudan, Burkina Faso and Palestine.
