Egypt’s Minister of Social Solidarity,Nevine el-Qabbaj, reiterated on Sunday her ministry’s support to disabled women, in line with the state’s strategy to protect the rights of persons with special needs.

The Ministry of Social Solidarity, the minister said, had launched an online application for the registration of women with disabilities.

She added that this move comes within the framework of the government’s keenness to safeguard the rights of disabled people, especially women.

The minister revealed that the online application had faced a technical malfunction during the Eid al-Adha vacation.

“This technical fault will be fixed within the next few days,” Minister el-Qabbaj said.

She added that the application contains information about the social, economic, educational, and practical status of disabled women across Egypt.

She noted that her ministry had registered around 180,000 women so far as well as the contributions of social pioneers around the country.

The Ministry of Social Solidarity, the minister said, is interested in completing the database of disabled women before the end of September 2023.

She referred to instructions by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi for solving the economic and social problems of persons with special needs.

“This comes in the light of the government’s endeavour to guarantee their rights in accordance with relevant legislations and in line with the state’s general budget,” the minister said.
