RABAT/CAIRO – Egypt’s Minister of Education and Technical Education Dr. Reda Hegazy praised the role of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) in support of member states, along with its contribution to upgrading education strategies.

In a statement issued Thursday, the education ministry said, during a meeting with the ICESCO’s Director General Salim bin Mohamed al-Malik at the organization’s headquarters in Rabat, the minister discussed the latest developments as regards training teachers and improving their skills to cope up with the most up-to-date technological applications, along with investments in upgrading capacity-building programs for teachers.

Egypt’s ambassador to Morocco, Yasser Osman, and the ICESCO’s deputy-director general, Abdelilah Benarafa, took part in the meeting, among others, said the statement.

The minister voiced happiness over visiting the ICESCO’s headquarters, it added.

For his part, the ICESCO’s director general stressed the organization’s keenness on boosting cooperation with Egypt in the education, science and culture domains, the statement read.

Meantime, al-Malik highlighted the role of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi in support of the “ICESCO’s Year of Youth” as it would witness a number of initiatives, programs and activities for Muslim youth.
