MINYA – Egyptian Local Development Minister Hisham Amna said the first phase of the national project to develop villages of the Egyptian Countryside as part of presidential initiative “Decent Life” targets five districts in Minya Governorate at a cost exceeding EGP 30 billion.
Amna was inspecting the implementation works of the initiative’s projects in Mallawi city in the governorate Thursday.
The minister said the first stage includes 32 local units and 192 main villages and calls for carrying out 3,482 projects in different service sectors.
The projects cover the fields of water, drainage, education, youth, sports, agriculture, ambulance, health and roads, according to him.
The move is meant to improve the living standards of nearly three million citizens in targeted villages, said Amna.
