Egyptian Minister of Culture, Enas Abdel Dayem, met yesterday South Sinai Governor, Khaled Fouda, to discuss the implementation of a number of cultural projects in South Sinai.
The projects include an upgrade of the open theater in el-Tur City. Upgrade works for the theatre include raising its efficiency by organizing its corridors, modernizing its entrances and exits and changing its lighting system.
Minister Abdel Dayem instructed her ministry officials, meanwhile, to speed up preparations for the first folklore festival in el-Tur City. “All specialized troupes need to participate in this festival,” the minister said.
She called for founding a folklore troupe in South Sinai in the light of plans to preserve the heritage of this part of Sinai. Minister Abdel Dayem also unveiled preparations by her ministry for the launch of a programme for training South Sinai children in theatrical arts, including acting.
She referred to another programme for discovering cinema talents among the residents of this part of Sinai.
Governor Fouda, for his part, said South Sinai authorities would offer support for Ministry of Culture projects in the governorate. He said these projects move hand in hand with the comprehensive development taking place in South Sinai at present.
