CAIRO – Egyptian Petroleum Minister Karim Badawy asserted that the petroleum sector works on implementing the approach of the government aiming at carrying out projects of green economy via a bundle of projects, including underway projects or those being examined.
The projects also include ventures aiming to improve the efficiency of energy consumption and decarbonisation.
This came on Thursday during Badawy’s meeting with Norwegian Ambassador to Egypt Hilde Klemetsdal and Deputy Executive Chairman of Norwegian company of Scatec for Africa and the Middle East Mohamed Amer to discuss the latest developments of implementing green hydrogen project and means to boost cooperation in the projects of energy transition and green energy.
Badawy asserted that the Norwegian companies have distinguished expertise in the field of technologies of power transformation, green hydrogen and decarbonisation.
The companies contribute to succeeding in the field of green projects in the petroleum sector, he said, pointing out to the full support presented by the sector to implement these projects in light of distinguished relations between both countries.
Meanwhile, Klemetsdal asserted full accord to implement projects beneficial for both countries, referring to the success of the green hydrogen project in light of the potentials owned by Egypt in this field and expertise presented by Scatec company.
