CAIRO – Egypt’s Minister of State for Emigration and Expatriates’ Affairs Soha Gendi asserted importance of the developmental role in confronting existing conflicts in countries of the African continent.
The minister was addressing a conference, themed “Horn of Africa Conflicts: Implications for Regional and Egyptian Security.”
The conference is organized by the Egyptian Center for Strategic Studies (ECSS), a Cairo-based think tank.
Gendi underscored the necessity of making a balance between the Egyptian role toward the continent and the interests of the country.
The Horn of Africa is an important part of Africa continent and Egypt is not only an active country in it, but it is affected by what is taking place in this region, according to her.
Any conflicts in the Horn of Africa are affecting conditions in Egypt, she said.
