CAIRO – Minister of State for Military Production Mohamed Ahmed Morsi expressed his aspiration for fostering co-operation with Portugal; with a view to achieving joint manufacturing, training workers, and exchanging manufacturing and technological expertise among companies from both sides.
Morsi made the remarks as he received on Tuesday Portugal’s vice president for defense affairs, in the presence of Portuguese Ambassador to Egypt Manuela Franco.
The meeting was held at the Ministry of Military Production’s pavilion as part of the second edition of Egypt Defense Expo (EDEX 2021) that is held from November 29 to December 2.
The minister said the meeting affirms close relations between Egypt and Portugal, noting that it touched on the technological, technical and manufacturing capabilities of the Ministry of Military Production.
The Portuguese defense industries corporation reviewed its most prominent products with a view to finding areas for joint cooperation with companies of the Ministry of Military Production, he added.
The Egyptian minister also expressed his appreciation for the Portuguese companies’ keenness to actively participate in EDEX 2021.
Meanwhile, the Portuguese vice president expressed her pleasure at being invited to take part in such an important event, noting in this regard that EDEX 2021 is considered a regional and international forum for companies operating in the defense and security industries.
