Egyptian Minister of State for Military Production Mohamed Salaheddin Mostafa has said his ministry, as an industrial arm of the state, seeks to meet the needs of the Armed Forces and Police as well as the needs of citizens.

The minister’s statements came on Sunday during a plenary meeting of board of directors of companies affiliated to the ministry.

He added that the ministry’s civilian production would also support the development process in the country and increase production.

The minister stressed the importance of increasing the volume of participation in civilian projects to offer good services for citizens in light of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s directives to deepen local industrialization and transfer advanced technology to all production sectors with the aim of reducing the imports bill and save hard currencies.

Ministry spokesman Mohamed Eid Bakr said the meeting witnessed firm directives to companies to focus on the interests of the homeland and services offered to citizens in light of the recent world variables and challenges.
