By Sarah Saad

Egyptian State Minister for Military Production Mohamed Saleh El Din Moustafa said that his ministry is working on manufacturing dual-fuel vehicles 100% made in Egypt to replace three-wheeled auto-rickshaws known as tuk-tuks.

The minister has announced that nearly 200 vehicles (alternative to tuk-tuks) will arrive from India within two weeks.

The price of the vehicle will be determined by Ghabbour GB Corp.

The Military Production Ministry has signed a contract with the Helwan Machinery and Equipment Company (999 Military Factory) and The International Company for Trade, Marketing, and Commercial Agencies (ITAMCO), a subsidiary of GB Corp, to manufacture and assemble a light four-wheeled vehicle, branded “Qute”, which is powered by a dual-motor system engine (gasoline/natural gas).
