Egypt’s Minister of Military Production Mohamed Salah Eldin discussed during a meeting Wednesday with director of the Italian Air Forces Logistics Command and his accompanying high level delegation ways of boosting bilateral ties and opening new vistas for co-operation on the sidelines of the 3rd edition of Egypt Defense Expo (EDEX 2023) that kicked off Monday.
The minister of military production reaffirmed the depth of ties binding Egypt and Italy, highlighting that the meeting came as part of the ministry’s efforts to localize the nuts and bolts of local industry in implementation of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s directives in this regard.
He posted participants on the great potentials of military production companies and their affiliated units, referring to the products that the ministry of military production was showcasing during EDEX 2023.
The Italian side lauded the role of the Egyptian Ministry of Military Production and its affiliated firms in promoting for investments in Egypt, along with the distinguished ties binding Egypt and Italy that have been witnessing tangible progress within the past years.
Ministry of Military Production Spokesman Mohamed Eid Bakr said, during the meeting, the minister of military production said the ministry is keen on upgrading all products, as well as introducing new ones in cooperation with local and international companies operating in this regard.
The Italian ambassador in Cairo took part in the meeting.
EDEX2023 is taking place within the period between 4-7 December 2023.
