Egypt’s  Minister of State for Military Production Mohamed Salah El-Din Moustafa witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the National Authority for Military Production and STARK Elektromotoren, a Swiss company specializing in electric motors and drive systems, to cooperate in the manufacturing and marketing of electric motors.

The ceremony took place at the headquarters of the Ministry of Military Production in the New Administrative Capital.

The minister stressed the ministry’s commitment to implementing President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s directives to localize advanced manufacturing technologies within Military Production companies in partnership with global specialized firms, both in military and civilian sectors.

He noted that current global challenges and crises underscore the importance of relying on local capabilities to support the national economy.

Salah highlighted that the ministry’s strategy focuses on optimizing available resources, technological capacities, and human expertise within its affiliated entities, which form the backbone of Egypt’s military manufacturing sector.

He added that these capabilities contribute significantly to national industry. This includes the production of high-quality civilian products at competitive prices by utilizing surplus production capacities. They also support the implementation of numerous national and developmental projects.

Under the agreement, the two sides will collaborate on manufacturing low-voltage (LV) electric motors ranging from 0.25 kW to 300 kW at the Military Production factories, using production lines compliant with International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) standards.

This partnership aims to strengthen Egypt’s position as a regional hub for the production and export of electric motors and related control systems.

Representatives of Stark noted that the Swiss company is a global leader in electric motor technology. They expressed interest in cooperating with the Ministry of Military Production.

They also highlighted the ministry’s advanced manufacturing, technological, technical, research, and human capabilities, along with its infrastructure, precision, and efficiency.

They added that the ministry is involved in major national and developmental projects. This involvement provides a solid foundation for promising strategic partnerships. It is especially significant amid Egypt’s efforts to create an investment-friendly climate.
