Egyptian Minister of State for Military Production Mohamed Salah El Din Mostafa Tuesday said the High Dam in the Upper Egypt governorate of Aswan is deemed the greatest engineering project in the 20th century and Egypt’s most remarkable water facility.
The minister made the remarks during a meeting Minister of Irrigation and Water Resources Hani Sewilam to discuss means of boosting cooperation, in the presence of a set of leaderships of both ministries.
Minister Salah el Din highlighted the ongoing fruitful cooperation between the ministries of military production and irrigation in carrying out several development projects, including renovating the monitoring, maintenance, and operation system of the High Ham, which is implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Military Production affiliate Helwan Company for Diesel Engines (Factory 909).
The meeting tackled the procedures of finalizing the underway renovation activities of the dam, due to their key importance in preserving the iconic facility.
Meanwhile, minister Sewilam hailed fruitful cooperation with the Ministry of Military Production in implementing mega national projects that serve Egypt’s water resources and irrigation sector.
