Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar met with representatives of Renaissance, a Turkish healthcare company, Mirdirm Global Investments, and Hassan Allam Holding to review plans for the design and construction of “Capital Med”, a major medical city project.
Welcoming the delegation, the minister highlighted the project as a pioneering model of public–private partnership under the General Organization for Teaching Hospitals and Institutes, Ministry Spokesman, Hossam Abdel-Ghaffar, said.
The meeting pointed to the companies’ expertise and examined the proposed design for the medical city, envisioned as the largest in the Middle East. Plans include up to 4,500 beds, 200 operating rooms, 100 cardiac care beds, 400 outpatient clinics, and advanced centers for research and training.
The minister directed the formation of joint technical committees to study implementation mechanisms and set clear timelines, and stressed that the medical city will be a qualitative addition to Egypt’s healthcare system and serve citizens under the Universal Health Insurance programme.
The General Organisation for Teaching Hospitals and Institutes, will oversee medical supervision in partnership with leading international institutions, positioning the city as a new model of integrated medical practice, Chairman Mohamed Mostafa Abdel-Ghaffar said.
