Egypt’s International Co-operation Minister Rania el Mashat said that the portfolio of ongoing development co-operation of the ministry includes 169 projects in different development sectors through non-refundable development grants, worth $3.4 billion .
Mashat’s remarks were made on Monday during a meeting of the Foreign Relations Committee of the House of Representatives to discuss the budget and the investment plan of the ministry for Fiscal Year 2023/2024.
The minister said the soft development finance is mainly aiming to support development efforts in the state, adding the ministry’s ongoing portfolio has nearly $24 billion.
In 2022, soft development finance included non-refundable grants, worth $483 million that are allocated to carry out 43 projects nationwide, according to her.
