Minister of International Cooperation Rania el-Mashat met with graduates of the 2023 Summer Training Programme at ministry headquarters at the New Administrative Capital.
This programme is being held for the third consecutive year since the ministry is training economics students in the latest developments in international cooperation, development financing and Egypt’s economic relations with multilateral and bilateral development partners.
Some 35 students from different universities nationwide took part in this year’s training.
Over the past three years, the Ministry has welcomed over 70 interns in total exposing students to work with multilateral cooperation, including the work teams of the World Bank, the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the African Development Bank (AfDB), and United Nations (UN) agencies, as well as the bilateral development cooperation sector, including cooperation with the Americas, Asia and Europe, and Arab-African cooperation, as well as interns who worked in the Department of Planning, Evaluation and Follow-up of development finance, the Arab Affairs Unit, the Department of Economic Research, and the Department of Digital Transformation, Innovation and E-Entrepreneurship
El-Mashat heard from each of the interns this year on their opinions and questions, as well as listening to what they have learned from their summer training programme in an open dialogue.
She also reviewed her ministry’s role in developing and strengthening economic relations with multilateral and bilateral development partners, international and regional financing institutions, the United Nations and its affiliated agencies and programmes, and following up on the implementation of projects implemented through development financing.
