CAIRO – Egypt’s Minister of International Co-operation Rania El Mashat asserted Sunday that investment in the human capital and its development tops the priorities of the state and occupies a key position in the work process with Egypt’s development bilateral and multilateral partners.
The minister’s remarks came during her participation in the First National Forum on the Future of Work in Egypt, which is organized by the German International Development Agency (GIZ) in the presence of German Ambassador in Cairo Frank Hartmann.
Head of The Egyptian Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) Khairy Barakat as well as representatives of various Egyptian ministries are attending the forum.
Mashat underlined the importance of the forum in enhancing discussions and exchange of expertise on the future of labor market as well as the necessary recommendations needed to understand the orientations of the larbor market and necessary skills.
She reviewed the framework of international cooperation and development portfolio which comprises 372 projects worth dlrs 26 billion covering various economic sectors.
In 2021, the state has managed to sign agreements for development funding with the value of dlrs 10.2 for the governmental and private sectors, including dlrs 2.47 billion which were allocated for investment in the human capital in the sectors of health, education, small- and medium-scale projects, food safety as well as women empowerment, she added.
She said that President Abdel Fattah El Sisi issued directives to maximize the benefits from relations with development partners, adding that current projects of good health reached up to 33 with the value of dlrs 1.5 billion, while good education projects amounted to 35 worth dlrs 2 billion along with projects of proper work opportunities which reached 47 projects worth dlrs 2.6 billion.
