CAIRO – Egyptian International Co-operation Minister Rania al-Mashat said on Monday Egypt, under President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, works on boosting co-operation with its fellow Arab countries, noting the International Co-operation Ministry works on activating regional integration through joint Arab committees and the Council of Arab Economic Unity.
Mashat was speaking via videoconference during her participation in the launching ceremony of the Arab Human Development Report 2022, issued by the UN Development Program (UNDP) under the theme of post-Covid recovery in the context of current development challenges.
Mashat noted that the report is being issued at an exceptional time in light of the continuing anti-coronavirus measures and ramifications of the Russian-Ukrainian crisis.
The current challenges require enhancing multilateral co-operation and partnerships between the public and private sectors, the minister pointed out.
The 2022 Arab Human Development Report assesses the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic on the Arab states and the region’s sustainable human development trajectory.
